Child Safety Standards

Last updated: June 2, 2026

Thumpr is an adults-only (18+) social and dating platform for gay, bi, and queer men. We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including child sexual abuse material (CSAM). The safety of minors is non-negotiable, and the following standards govern how we prevent, detect, and respond to CSAE on Thumpr.

1. Adults only — no one under 18

  • Thumpr is strictly for users 18 years of age or older.

  • During sign-up, every user must enter their date of birth. Anyone under 18 is rejected and cannot create an account, and age is validated server-side.

  • Accounts found to belong to a minor are immediately removed.

2. Prohibited content and conduct

We strictly prohibit, and will act on, any content or behavior that:

  • Sexualizes, endangers, or exploits minors in any way;

  • Constitutes or facilitates CSAM or child sexual abuse material;

  • Attempts to groom, solicit, lure, or contact a minor;

  • Promotes, normalizes, or trades in CSAE.

3. How we prevent and detect CSAE

  • Age gating at registration with server-side validation.

  • Profile-photo moderation combining automated image analysis (AWS Rekognition) and human review before and after publication.

  • Admin moderation console through which our team reviews reports and removes violating content and accounts.

  • User reporting and blocking available throughout the app.

Note on private messages: Thumpr direct messages are end-to-end encrypted, so message content is not scanned on our servers. We rely on user reports, profile and photo moderation, and account-level signals to detect abuse in private channels, and we act on every report we receive.

4. How to report CSAE

  • In the app: open any profile or conversation and use Report (and Block to stop contact immediately).

  • By email: contact our team at support@thumpr.us.

Reports of CSAE are prioritized and handled urgently.

5. Our response

When we identify CSAE or CSAM, we will:

  1. Remove the content and ban the responsible account(s);

  2. Preserve relevant evidence as required by law;

  3. Report apparent CSAM to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and cooperate with law enforcement;

  4. Take steps to prevent the offending user from returning.

6. Legal compliance

Thumpr complies with all applicable child-safety laws and reporting obligations, including U.S. reporting requirements to NCMEC, and Google Play's Child Safety Standards and CSAE policies.
